Dearest friend … On so many levels and areas of life, Nora and I are giving thanks! We celebrated a great Thanksgiving, and cherish our times together as a family and with friends. We are hoping and trusting you also share quality relationships this season of focus on gratefulness. In this update, we are especially thankful for the translations and publishing work we support. Because of all the excellent relationships that have developed over the past five years, a number of people have actually met and gotten to know some of our partners when they were here for a visit to the USA. Much of their financial backing, especially in the translation and publishing work, has pivoted out of their time here. A number of years ago, again via relationships, friendships opened up a door with an organization and its umbrella affiliate, in TUMI and World Impact. You can see their healthy history of ministry at: https://www.worldimpact.org/blog/the-urban-ministry-institute/ Amazingly, as we connected to a local Colorado friend and his church congregation, the entire focus of translations, publications, and means to get all this to countries outside the USA, literally took on a life of its own and has grown exponentially since then! And while it’s not our usual way to so openly acknowledge those who support this expansive work, we do want to take this time to give a special thanks, to those who have so lovingly taken on this expansion and built such a solid relationship of trust with so many internationally. Wrapping up, (though we could share so much more); we had a great visit with Rami, as he was passing through Colorado on his way home. Rami, and his work are the latest to join our team as partners, as we continue to expand. Please consider, as we have yet another international couple who are contemplating this type of partnership. Nora and I give thanks to you! It is indeed already the tail end of November ’24; so we once again acknowledge how our lives are so fleeting. It is also that time of year when we seek additional financial support that takes us through and into the next year of ’25. 30-35% of our annual financial backing comes in between now and the end of December. Thanksgiving Gratefulness … !!!

Sufferings … Yet Joys … Emig’s Update 17 October ’24
Dearest friend …
Wow … these have been such difficult weeks for so many in the USA and the Middle East! You’re exposed to all this news; you know. Our hearts weep at the sufferings, as homes, livelihoods, and families are so disrupted; never the same. And yet in the poverty of these experiences, we are hearing such threads of hope, faith, togetherness. It seems for every news interview we see in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and our personal conversations with those in Lebanon, etc., there are those words and intonations of voice that express a “together”, “we’re gonna pull through this”, and a “we’re gonna pull through this TOGETHER”! It’s so powerful! And so we give, solicit resources, arrange, work, and “still” ourselves in Him who alone can contain and enter into the “ALL of it all”, comprehending it all, as we so certainly cannot. As I like to say … “I ‘invitation'(verb) You into that ALL of all I simply cannot handle.”

So, for the sake of brevity, and need to relate to you a few of the many blessings of these weeks past …
* Conferences in Lebanon and Iraq/Kurdistan were a hit and loved by all! Kurdistan especially wants to double their attendance, so other leaders can attend.
* Charlie Lamento, our International Attorney, did a excellent job in his initial relationships connections in Iraq, laying out many new plans for teaching and implementing in government and university settings.
* Joni&Friends (and many other friends here in the USA and Lebanon) have helped us get a 40′ container loaded with wheelchairs en route to Beirut, Lebanon … in such a crucial time as this!
* Safety abounded for our team …
———————-
Pray …
* The container arrives safely in Beirut and there are no issues at the ocean port or the airport.
* Leaders and their wives who attended the conferences would overflow their restoration to all in their care, shepherding well.
* Safety and ability to function well for our friends in Lebanon, as they never stop serving and ministering … no matter what!
* Ability and resources to continue serving all 7 organizations and leaders under our umbrella …
* So much opening up for all of us … so wisdom to choose well our foci of work and followings …
* Strength and restoration for Nora, as she juggles so much in this new position of teaching special needs elementary learners. She still needs to pass the reading portion of her Praxis exam for Colorado, qualifying her to teach.
* EOY – End-Of-Year is fast approaching, and we have much to wrap up and continue expanding, as doors open, and we approach 31 December ’24.

Nora and I are so grateful for you; as we both sense your presence for us, and in all the ways you undergird our lives.
“Be still and know that I am … ”
“Be still and know … ”
“Be still … ”
“Be … ”
