These shepherds carry immense burdens. They preach weekly to congregations grieving lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. They comfort families living in fear while bearing the same anxieties themselves. In Iran, following Jesus carries enormous personal risk. While historic Armenian and Assyrian churches receive official recognition, Muslim-background believers and minority believers often face intense government scrutiny. House churches are monitored, pastors and leaders have been arrested, and believers imprisoned for baptisms, Bible studies, and sharing their faith. Despite the dangers, the Church in Iran continues to grow. Pastors faithfully shepherd small gatherings, knowing every meeting carries potential risk.

In Syria, more than a decade of civil war, economic collapse, and instability has devastated Christian communities. Many churches have been damaged or destroyed, and large numbers of believers have fled. Those who remain face poverty, uncertainty, and sporadic violence. Pastors must preach God’s Word while also providing food, shelter, counseling, and practical hope to families who have lost nearly everything.

In Lebanon, years of economic crisis followed by renewed conflict have placed tremendous strain on churches.
