Max Has Gone Ahead Of Us …

Dearest Family and Friends, 11 December ’24

It’s with heavy hearts, our family writes to you today to let you know that Max has gone home to be with our Lord and Saviour.  It is the way he would have liked to have gone to be with the Lord.  He met with a neighbor for Bible Study in the morning and then went out to feed the chickens.  Mom noticed he was taking a long time to come back in and sent Heidi to check on him. We think Max’s homegoing was quick, probably due to a heart attack, and he seemed peaceful.  Our wonderful neighbors surrounded us and have been so protective and supportive through all this.  Mary Jo and Grace Ann drove up from Chicago and Harvey came quickly on a plane.

Appreciate your prayers for all of us as there are many decisions ahead.  We’ll update you more in the next few days.

Max was not only our Dad, but also a father to many of you, as well as friend and brother in the Lord.  We will miss him terribly and are so thankful to God for all that He gave to us and to his Lord.

Lots of love from all of us….The Weighmink Family “Behold, I tell you a mystery:  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.”  I Cor. 15:51-52

My(Dan) update on FB …

I can still remember that evening after I pulled a long 12-14 shift at Ramstein, AB, Germany; Max walking in to meet me the stranger, eating my sandwich, minding my own business. Max the Navigator (ministry) was there to barge into my life, share the Gospel, his faith in Christ, and speak into my rebellion. My life was never to be the same. My trajectory to this day would never have been what it is. My heart was forever turned toward a Christ I’d never truly known before. I began to “walk with Him”. So strong was the experience, that when I exited the Air Force, I ended up back in Germany as a civilian, under the mentorship of Max and another good friend, Chip Swain; for the next two years. He influenced so many like myself. Not perfect, yet full of faith and walk that mattered. Who’s your “Max”?! Max … I’ll see ya on the other side … you who have gone ahead of us … 😀♥ … but for now, I’m gonna sit and have a cup of coffee in your honor … as you did love Scripture and your black coffee …
“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” Hebrews 13:7

Oh So Grateful In This Thanksgiving Season ’24 !

Dearest friend …

On so many levels and areas of life, Nora and I are giving thanks!  We celebrated a great Thanksgiving, and cherish our times together as a family and with friends.  We are hoping and trusting you also share quality relationships this season of focus on gratefulness.

In this update, we are especially thankful for the translations and publishing work we support.  Because of all the excellent relationships that have developed over the past five years, a number of people have actually met and gotten to know some of our partners when they were here for a visit to the USA.  Much of their financial backing, especially in the translation and publishing work, has pivoted out of their time here.  A number of years ago, again via relationships, friendships opened up a door with an organization and its umbrella affiliate, in TUMI and World Impact.  You can see their healthy history of ministry at:   https://www.worldimpact.org/blog/the-urban-ministry-institute/
Amazingly, as we connected to a local Colorado friend and his church congregation, the entire focus of translations, publications, and means to get all this to countries outside the USA, literally took on a life of its own and has grown exponentially since then!  And while it’s not our usual way to so openly acknowledge those who support this expansive work, we do want to take this time to give a special thanks, to those who have so lovingly taken on this expansion and built such a solid relationship of trust with so many internationally.

Wrapping up, (though we could share so much more); we had a great visit with Rami, as he was passing through Colorado on his way home.  Rami, and his work are the latest to join our team as partners, as we continue to expand.  Please consider, as we have yet another international couple who are contemplating this type of partnership.

Nora and I give thanks to you!  It is indeed already the tail end of November ’24; so we once again acknowledge how our lives are so fleeting.

It is also that time of year when we seek additional financial support that takes us through and into the next year of ’25.  30-35% of our annual financial backing comes in between now and the end of December.  If your heart moves to help in this manner, simply click on the DONATION tab/link below or send funds via snail mail at the address below.
